Announcement: Diving Instructor Examination

Qualification as a Professional Instructor According to EOBV Standard

This announcement is aimed at aspiring diving instructors who wish to consolidate and certify their pedagogical and practical skills at a professional level. In addition to testing fundamental practical skills, the focus is on knowledge transfer, methodology, and the safe guidance of diving students and diving groups.

Participation Requirements

  • Age: At least 21 years.
  • Qualification: EOBV 4**** or equivalent training according to training pathway.
  • Experience: Proof of at least 250 logged dives.
  • Theory: Successfully completed special topic “Legal Regulations”.
  • Health: Valid diving fitness examination.

Examination Content

1. Theoretical Requirements & Pedagogy

  • Teaching Demonstrations: Preparation of two theory teaching units (EOBV 4**** level) of 50 minutes each. Topic assignment will be made after registration.
  • Methodology Check: Delivery of two short presentations (15 min. each) on spontaneous topics (preparation time: 10 min.), assigned by the training director.

2. Practical Exercises (in Demonstration Quality)

  • Apnea Performance: 50 m distance diving in open water and 75 sec. time diving (static).
  • Equipment Handling: Diving down to and donning diving equipment deposited at 10 m depth.
  • Safety & Rescue: Simulated emergency ascent with buddy breathing from 40 m depth as well as recovery of an unconscious diver from 20 m depth.
  • Navigation: Triangle course at night with strict adherence to depth and time.
  • Conduct: Consistently clean equipment configuration and professional, exemplary diving behavior.

Training Focus Areas

Participants will deepen the following competencies in this course:

  • Pedagogy & Didactics: Advanced fundamentals of training methodology.
  • Specialized Knowledge: In-depth study in the areas of ecology, medicine, technology, physics, and diving psychology.
  • Professionalism: Structured procedures and confident presence as a representative of the association.
  • Duty of Supervision: Theoretical and practical fundamentals of dive supervision.

Certification According to Federal Law Gazette BGBl. II No. 13/2007as Work, Research, and Engineering Diver

We are pleased to announce the administration of the Professional Knowledge Examination (FK-V) at Lake Längsee. This examination is aimed at experienced divers who meet the legal requirements for professional activities or wish to elevate their qualifications to the next level.

To be admitted to the examination, the following criteria must be met:

  • Age: Completed 21st year of life.
  • Qualification: EOBV 4**** or equivalent training.
  • Experience: Proof of at least 250 logged dives.
  • Theory: Completed special topic “Legal Regulations”.
  • Health: Valid certificate of diving fitness.

Examination Content

1. Theoretical Requirements

  • Prepared Specialist Presentation: Each participant prepares two theory teaching units (EOBV 4**** level) of 35 minutes each. Specific topics will be assigned after registration.
  • Spontaneous Presentations: During the examination, two short presentations (15 min. each) must be delivered. Preparation time is 10 minutes after topic assignment by the training director.

2. Practical Exercises (in Demonstration Quality)

  • Time Diving: Static apnea of at least 75 seconds.
  • Emergency Management: Self-rescue from entanglement at 5 m depth including removal of the autonomous full-face mask diving equipment.
  • Mask Handling: Flooding the full-face mask, switching to half mask and back.
  • Work Diving: Controlled lifting and moving of loads over a defined distance and depth.
  • Navigation: Completing a triangle course at night with strict adherence to time and depth specifications.
